Dead Blue Collar Man
36" X 36"
Oil on Canvas

This work confronts the friendly character Hams Beer uses to sell its product. The happy head on the hood of the car is the head of the bear. The man who is laying half way out the window is a "blue collar man." He has drunk too much and crashed his car. Incidentally he lost his head in the accident. The two other figures depict the pain and suffering this act has caused those in his life. This work is special because it touches home with me. I am a blue collar man who has been bombarded with imagery from beer companies my entire life. This work helps me confront my fears of dying in a fatal car crash due to drinking and driving.
